「後継機種はSwitch向けソフトも遊べる」　任天堂の古川代表が発表
任天堂は11月6日、Nintendo Switchの後継機種の情報を公式X（＠NintendoCoLtd）上で一部公開した。「後継機種ではNintendo Switch向けソフトも遊べる」「Nintendo Switch Onlineも後継機種で引き続き利用できるようにする」の2点を古川俊太郎代表名義で告知した。なお、Switchとの互換性を含む後継機種の詳細は、後日改めて案内するという。

任天堂は6日、発売から8年目を迎えた家庭用ゲーム機「ニンテンドースイッチ」 (Nintendo Switch)の後継機種について、現行機種のゲームなどソフトウエアを引き続き利用できる仕様にすると発表した。 同社は平成16年にニンテンドーDS、18年にWiiを発売したが、29年発売のスイッチとはソフトの互換性がなかった。スイッチの累計販売台数は世界で約1億4600万台におよび、ソフトはこれまでに累計で約13億本販売されている。同社は「新しいゲーム機をお買い上げいただくタイミングでお客様との関係が一度途切れていた」とし「継続的につながることが可能になった」と意義を強調している。
