Ecobee's new smart thermostat could save you money on heating – and it's half the price of the latest Google Nest
The company launched the affordable Smart Thermostat Essential at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, and it's due to launch in March for just $129.99 (about £100 / AU$200). That's significantly less than most smart thermostats, and around half the price of last year's Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen).

The Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential will go on sale in March at all major retailers. It comes with a 5-year warranty and is Energy Star certified, so you might even be able to get it for free, or at a significant discount through your local energy utility.
