Valve has published its Steam year in review 2024 along with a list of the top-selling and most-played games. The best sellers in terms of gross revenue include a lot of free-to-play titles like Counter Strike 2, PUBG Battlegrounds and Apex Legends. Paid for titles include Space Marine II, Black Myth Wukong, Elden Ring and Palworld.

Valve shared its “Best of 2024” data on Dec. 26, highlighting games that performed the best by a variety of metrics. The data is split into various categories, such as best-selling games, most played, and favorites among Steam Deck, VR, and controller users.

Valve never shows individual total gross revenue numbers of its best-selling titles; instead, it groups them into Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories.

PUBG is one of the OG battle royale games. But it hasn’t always had a free-to-play option. That’s where Battlegrounds comes in. And, despite the mixed reviews on Steam, it still brings in the players, making it one of the most played games on the platform.

Palworld: Feybreak hasn't reached those same heights yet, but it's easily been the game's biggest popularity spike since launch. Palworld is sitting atop a throne of 200,000 concurrent players. That's the current 24-hour peak of the game,
