PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Several South Florida Macy’s stores and Furniture Galleries are expected to close in the coming months. Macy’s made the announcement in a media release on Thursday to close nearly 150 underperforming stores across the country over the next three years.

Two major retailers announced store closures to start the year. Macy’s and Kohl’s store locations across the nation will soon be going dark, according to Thursday news releases from both companies. Here’s what to know.

Macy's released the locations of 66 stores slated to be closed. Seven are located in Florida. They are: Boca Raton Furniture, at 9339 Glades Road in Boca Raton, was included in an earlier closure announcement by Macy's. The company said clearance sales at Macy's stores will begin in January and will run for approximately 8 to12 weeks.
